Cyprus is renowned as the birthplace of Aphrodite in Greek myth but it is not romance but the island’s geographical location at the crossroads of three continents that has drawn conquerors from around the Mediterranean over ten millennia.
Nowadays it is divided between the Republic of Cyprus in the south and the Turkish-ruled north. Both have a natural bounty of beautiful beaches as well as fascinating historic monuments from throughout its lavish history.

Only a short drive from the sun, sand and sea worshippers on the coast and you can be in the 860-square-kilometre Troodos National Park where rugged hills and forested valleys offer a wild beauty in the shadow of Mt Olympus. The interior of Cyprus is where you will find traditional life, including ancient wine-growing regions.
