Florida’s year around warmth makes it very popular with domestic and international visitors. From glitzy Miami to the stunning beaches, Florida’s attractions are legion.
For nature lovers there is the one-and-a-half-million-acre Everglades National Park, where the wetlands are home to abundant wildlife such as turtles, alligators and maybe even the rare Florida panther.
Florida’s artificial reef system is home to the largest collection of warm-water wrecks in the western world so it is unsurprisingly popular with divers. Near Fort Lauderdale you can dive the Shipwreck Park, where a massive tanker ship is surrounded by other wrecks covered with marine life.
For many visitors Florida is all about the theme parks. The huge Walt Disney World in Orlando is a big drawcard and don’t miss Universal Studios just down the road, including Islands of Adventure and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
